How a bill becomes law

Our government is against us.  From the lawmakers who are trying to buy our votes, who have been bought by industries to Presidents who prefer to be king than act as the will of the democracy while understanding the reasoning of the Constitution.  

What is the Constitution?
It is our written rules that describe the way our government is to be run (its' organization), its' federal limitations and enunciates our God given rights. 

Today we will explore a little about the first amendment.


Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Seems pretty easy, eh?

Well, it's not.  And it is constantly abused.  By those in charge.  Sometimes, ok most of the time, those in charge aren't the people we elect but the bureaucrats that get appointed and stay for a lifetime no matter what bad decisions they make.  They get hired and become entrenched.   More on this later but as the easiest example:

the right of the people peaceably to assemble


Why is there a permit process to assemble?  Who decides if it's approved? Why is burning draft cards an illegal protest?
